2007 and 2008 Nissan 350Z Gains Estimated 8.17 Horsepower with K&N Performance Air Intake System
- May 6, 2008
The new look of the hood on the 2007 Nissan 350Z has a Z-themed retro-styled
power dome. Under the hood there is an updated version of the car's 3.5 liter V6
engine which includes a higher rev limit and compression ratio. A twin ram-air
intake and variable exhaust camshaft timing are also updated features of this engine.

K&N Engineering has designed a dual air intake system (69-7071TS)
for the 2007 and 2008 Nissan 350Z with a 3.5 liter V6 engine. The system consists of
two short ram air intakes with powder coated silver tubes, two
K&N high flow air filters (RU-4960) and two powder coated steel heat shields.

K&N dynamometer tests show an estimated 8.17 horsepower gain at 5800 rpm. In addition to power gains, K&N air intake systems are designed to increase filtering capacity and improve throttle response. The heat shields are engineered to isolate the oversized K&N high flow air filters from engine bay heat. There is a different heat shield for each side of the vehicle designed to fit the unique contours and equipment each side has in place.
The 69-7071TS also uses the 350Z's factory fresh air ducts which provide cooler outside air to the individual K&N air filters for more power. The two air intake units are placed in opposite corners near the fender wells behind the headlights of the 350Z.
It takes about 90 minutes to install this K&N air intake. It does not remove the stock intake plenums which keep a clean look under the hood. This K&N air intake system, like all other K&N air intake systems is backed by the famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty.
