Racing is, in every sense of the word, a family business. Even if the family isn't directly involved, they are indirectly affected by the weekly grind of a racing season. Some families, however, choose to embrace racing, and make it an integral part of their livelihood. The Faccinto family fits into that category.

Brothers Michael and Mitchell Faccinto are both enjoying career seasons in 600 Micro Sprints on the West Coast. Both drivers have captured feature victories, and both have made headlines with major event wins. For older brother Michael, the Clay Cup Nationals in Washington proved to be the marquee race of the season.

In 600 Micro Sprint racing, no race on the West Coast is bigger than the Clay Cup Nationals. Michael entered the event in Davey Key's car, and over the course of three days, showed consistency and skill while, eventually dominating the feature race on his way to claiming the $7,500 prize.

"2011 has been a year I'll never forget," Michael said. "We started the year winning the King of California series, the Budweiser Outlaw Nationals and we have maintained the points lead at Plaza Park Raceway."

Indeed, it has been a dominating year for Michael. But younger brother Mitchell is enjoying his share of success as well. He remains in the points chase, thanks to a string of consistent finishes, and on Memorial Day, Mitchell won the Palace Nationals, an event he called "the best moment of the year for me."

Mitchell also said that motivation "is never an issue" when racing his brother, because the level of competition at their home tracks is so high. Michael captured a championship in 2010, beating those tough competitors, along with his brother.

The two enjoy a strong relationship. Michael said he has never been upset with his brother on the track, but instead called him "my toughest competitor."

"At the end of the day, he's still my little brother," Michael added.

The Faccinto's credited their change to Pace Chassis' and Seros Racing Engines for their overall team improvement in 2011.

The two plan to continue their pursuit of another 600 Micro Sprints championship this season, and K&N Filters is a big reason for it.

"K&N Filters are vital to our team's success," Michael said. "We count on K&N to keep both our motor oil and our air clean and to improve flow and increase horsepower."
