K&N Air Intake for 2007 to 2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser Adds 11.95 Horsepower

Rock crawling adventures in the 2007, 2008 and 2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser with its 4.0 liter V6 engine should be a breeze. Four-wheel-drive FJ Cruisers are solid off road, however, rear wheel drive is standard. The FJ's looks take a cue from the first generation Land Cruiser which include round headlights with a grille, an upright windshield and wraparound rear glass.

K&N Engineering, Inc. has made a 63 Series AirCharger Air Intake System, 63-9030 for the 2007 to 2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser with a 4.0 liter V6 engine. "The electronic components under the hood were repositioned along with the new design of the FJ," said K&N Performance Kit Manager Bert Heck. "K&N developed a new heat shield for this particular vehicle and designed the tube which allowed us to run the largest K&N Air Filter possible."

K&N tests have shown a horsepower gain of 11.95 @ 4785 RPM. K&N Engineers were able to get such good horsepower because the original factory airbox, hose, and original filter were not designed to maximize airflow like the K&N air intake, said Heck.

K&N's 63-9030 rotationally molded polyethylene Intake System uses a round tapered chrome top Air Filter RC-5046 that fits into the stock location. The heat shield isolates the filter element from the engine heat.

It takes less than an hour to install this air intake and the lifetime K&N Air Filter performs for up to 100,000 miles before service is required depending on driving conditions.
