RJ Anderson and the New K&N Polaris Intake Win the UTV World Championship
- Apr 18, 2017
Anderson has been focusing his efforts on truck racing so far in 2017. However, the K&N-sponsored racer decided to strap himself back into his Polaris for the UTVWC, and he is certainly glad he did. It turns out that the win fulfilled a personal goal for Anderson and added a new Polaris to his garage. “I’ve wanted one of these UTV World Championships for awhile,” said Anderson. “It’s a pinnacle trophy for our sport. I won a brand new RZR, which is a pretty big pay day…even bigger than the truck stuff I do. We had a flawless day.”
The windy and dusty conditions on the Laughlin course were also a great proving ground for the intake’s effective engine protection. K&N is proud to have helped keep Anderson’s day “flawless.” The UTV World Championship short course race was contested on the same track as the long race, but was limited to three laps. From the start, the dust was a factor in the race, especially considering Anderson’s starting position.
The K&N-sponsored UTV World Championship was a huge success from start to finish. It kicked off with the Pit Crew Challenge on Thursday night that was won by the K&N-sponsored Murray Race Team, and continued with the huge contingency and tech on Friday. However, the racing is what the weekend is all about, and it did not disappoint. Because of the nature and layout of the Laughlin course, the racers had to contend with traffic all race long. This made for some exciting passing and a great viewing experience for race fans.
Anderson was quick to recognize all of his supporters and backers. “[I] can't thank my crew, sponsors, and family enough," he said. "I wanted this one bad!" K&N congratulates RJ Anderson on a huge win in the UTV World Championship. K&N is also excited to have secured our first race victory with the new 63-1136 intake. You can run the same intake technology that helped RJ Anderson win the UTVWC. Just check out the easy to navigate K&N application search tool. | ||||
