The 22-year-old McAlpin, Florida racer clocked in at 5.340 seconds at 264.86 mph in the Darien-Meadows owned dragster. Wood took over Ashley Force’s spot in Top Alcohol Dragster when Force made the move to Top Fuel Funny Car at the start of the 2007 season. “Everything just worked out,” said Wood. “I’ve got a great crew and a great car.”

Wood is followed in points by former NHRA Pacific Division Champion and current Top Fuel Dragster Morgan Lucas.

“K&N sponsored Lindsey at the Sportsman level and we will continue to support her,” said K&N Sports Marketing Director Charles Maier. “Lindsey is a nice fit for K&N. Lindsey uses a K&N Engineering Clutch Air Filter. It contains all the dust from the clutch and prevents a dust cloud as she launches.”

Gainesville is next up for Wood. She said she hopes to do as well at the Gatornationals.
