Jonathan Allard sported a new chassis for the first time in 2007 at Tulare,
California in the World of Outlaws Sprint Series. On a very cold Friday night he
went up against 42 other sprinters at Thunderbowl Raceway.
Overnight rain made the track surface very fast and passing was nearly
impossible during the heats. Allard’s best shot to get a good finish was to get
a nice start. He was able to settle into fourth.

During the heat Allard felt a lot of pressure from Australian Brooke Tatnell.
After five laps Allard was able to find a nice groove and pull away to finish
fourth in the Williams Motorsports, GT Trends, K&N Filters No. 0.

For the 35 lap feature Jonathan lined up in the number 19 position. On
lap 23 he was tagged from behind and spun out. The track was so difficult, World
of Outlaws point leader Donny Schatz was not fast enough to make the initial cut for the A Feature and 20
time World of Outlaws champion Steve Kisner didn’t make it to the feature at all.
On Saturday, Allard turned the fastest lap out of
41 cars. The top 16 qualifiers made the inversion for the heat race and Jonathan
lined up on the pole of heat two. The Williams Motorsports racer beat defending
World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year Chad Kemenah into the first turn and took
command of the heat.
Joey Saldana closed in around five laps and hounded Allard for a few turns and
took the lead with a few laps left. Allard kept his cool and went on to score a
second place finish which put him in the dash.
The 30-year-old Chico, California racer had an inside row two starting spot.
During the first lap a malfunction near the front of the car sent him sideways
in front of the rest of the field. The other cars had nowhere to go and piled
into the No.0 machine. The Williams crew did what they could and Allard took the
green flag of the A-main. After completing a lap he pulled off the raceway and
scored an official finish of 25th.
Prior to the dash incident he team seemed to have their machine going well, and
the learning curve might not take very long with the new chassis. “We use K&N
Engineering Oil and Air Filters along with K&N’s Carbon Fiber Air Box,” said
Allard. “K&N makes the best products, the oil and air filters are easy to use
and maintain. We just wash, assemble and race and we never have to worry about
performance. We depend on K&N.”
The Golden State Challenge Series kicks off in less than two weeks with the
annual Mini Gold Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico.

KTM makes the 250 SXF motorcycle with strong low-end and mid-range power. It gives the rider more options on how to attack each track obstacle. KTM also worked on widening the dirt bike in key areas to allow riders to grip the machine with their legs.
K&N Engineering has developed a Powersports Oil Filter (KN-655) for 2005 through 2016 KTM 250 SXF and XCF. This powersports oil filter is designed to be used and then replaced.
KN-655 is built to stand up to the high concentrates of synthetic racing oils. "Team KTM Canada-National Off-Road Effort, Canadian National KTM Team; Team Fire/Police MX- KTM Support Supercross Team 5, AMA Supercross and Supercross Lites; and Clayton Nance-Amateur National Rider "B" Class KTM will use KN-655," said K&N Powersports Brand Manager John Jump. "K&N Powersports Oil Filters deliver outstanding filtration at high flow rates."
The filtering media is powerful and designed to protect motors from harmful contaminants and debris. Motors stay clean and run smooth for pros, amateurs and weekend warriors.
The K&N Powersports Oil Filter KN-655 fits the following vehicles:
The Land Rover Range Rover Sport, the Jaguar, Lincoln LS and Ford Thunderbird
are distinctly different when it comes to design and looks. For the owner, it
comes down to a matter of personal preference when it's time to purchase any one
of these luxury or sporty vehicles.
K&N's Performance Gold Oil Filter HP-1014
K&N Engineering has developed a Performance Gold Oil Filter (HP-1014) for the
above mentioned models from 2002 through 2010. Designed for high-performance
engines, they deliver outstanding filtration at high flow rates to keep your
motor running clean and smooth.
To satisfy our consumers and racers, our oil filters are designed to go over and
above the needs of most vehicles. K&N oil filters have thick canister walls for
extra strength and durability. This reduces the risks of damage from loose rocks
and debris.
HP-1014, like other K&N Performance Gold Oil Filters, is constructed with a
sturdy one inch wrench nut. It is welded to the top of the canister and can be
wrenched-off easily with a standard tool.
K&N Performance Gold Oil Filters are covered by a limited warranty to be free
from defects in materials and workmanship when installed and replaced using
engine and equipment manufacturer's recommended service.

“I race a Kawasaki 250f and a Kawasaki 450f,” said Howell. “Amateur day
gives me a chance to show my skills on a slightly tamed down track. I love the
intense competition and I love to practice because I can always become a better
rider.”

“Howell also won the Schoolboy and 450B classes at BooKoo Arenacross Amateur Day
in Yakima, Washington. “Both of the tracks (at Salem and Yakima) are really
tight and it’s tough to pass,” said Howell. “I usually compete against anywhere
from seven to eighteen people, depending on the class.”
Howell uses K&N Engineering Air and Oil Filters
KA-2506XD,
KN-207
and KN-112.
“I really like K&N Filters,” said Howell. “The power gains are noticeable
throughout the whole power band. I really like that I can go longer on K&N
Filters and they are easy to change and clean.”
The high school sophomore plans to race in most of the amateur nationals
in 2007 including Lake Whitney, World Mini GP, Ponca City and Loretta Lynn’s.

Bayou Boyz Slate Cummings made his NHRA 2007 debut at Houston Raceway Park for
the Lucas Oil Division Series Race. Backed by his Moser Engineering Racing Team,
Cummings added a runner-up finish in Super Stock to his resume. He has a
successful record in the bracket racing arena driving his Moser Engineering
Pontiac Grand Am.

At Houston, Cummings faced five rounds of tough competition and a final round
match-up with contender Jerry Emmons. The battle ended quickly when Cummings lit
the red-light by .001, handing Emmons an automatic win.

“It was a heartbreaking race,” said Larry Cummings, father of Bayou Boyz Racers,
Slate and Britt. “It was also a relief, because after racing in the NHRA for two
years we made it to the finals. It was a huge boost in confidence for our team.
We have a good record in the IHRA and we’re going after a good record in the
NHRA.”
In addition to his runner-up finish in Super Stock, Slate Cummings advanced to
the fourth round in Super Comp. Mechanical problems hit hard and hurt his run
with eventual runner-up Tommy Costales.
“We put up a good weekend all around,” said Britt Cummings. “Slate went a bunch
of rounds and earned some valuable points. Overall, I’m content with where the
team is headed. At this point last year we were upside down with our engine
program and it took half the season to get everything straight. Now we’re where
we need to be in every class that we run.”
Slate Cummings recorded a huge 186.78 mph at the 8.90 index in his Moser Super
Comp Dragster. The teams Camaro also ran a 10.45 (11.65 Index) with Britt
Cummings at the wheel. The family affair continued as patriarch Larry Cummings
recorded an 11.31 in his 1968 Camaro (12.45 Index).
The Bayou Boyz use K&N Engineering products on all their vehicles. “Our K&N Oil
and Air Filters are very dependable,” said Larry Cummings. “We’ve never had a
problem at any racing event with K&N.”
The Cummings Motorsports Team have a weekend off before the second NHRA Lucas
Oil Division Event on the NHRA Division 4 Schedule March 2-4. They will race at
No Problem Raceway in Belle Rose, Louisiana.
