It is the ultimate racing test of car and team where reliability and planning
are critical for a win. The NASA 25 Hours of Thunderhill Presented by the U.S.
Air Force is considered the most extreme and severe endurance race on the planet
by the professional teams who come from around the world to participate.

K&N Engineering GoodSport Evo at Thunderhill
Driving the K&N Engineering GoodSport Evo, David Bongiovanni and Ralph
Alexander prepared by locking down every nut and bolt on the car. “We paid
attention to every detail,” said Bongiovanni. “We also did a lot of physical
conditioning. I rode my bike for miles every day before the event.”
The team of two covered a distance of nearly 2,000 miles of twists and turns in
the rolling hills of northern California. Bongiovanni and Alexander each drove
12 and-a-half-hours during “The 25.” The two men were up against teams with
several drivers. “We drove 3 and-a-half hours at a time,” said Bongiovanni. “We
were reaching speeds of around 125 mph. I just get into a rhythm during a race,
it’s comparable to dancing. It was so intense I had to go to the hospital at the
end of the race to get IV fluids. I was very dehydrated.”
2nd place finish for Bongiovanni and Alexander
Both K&N Air and Oil Filters were used during the race
he adventure ultimately paid off. On December 4th, 48 cars out of 56
starters endured the longest night of Thunderhill and crossed the finish line.
Bongiovanni and Alexander took 2nd place in the highly competitive EO Tuner
Class. The K&N Engineering GoodSport Evo is equipped with K&N Oil and Air
Filters. “K&N improves the longevity and reliability of the engine,” said
Bongiovanni. “Good fuel management and pit strategy allowed us to pass our
opponents.” On December 4th, 48 cars out of 56 starters endured the longest
night of Thunderhill and crossed the finish line.
Next for Bongiovanni is the AWD Challenge in February.

Jason Patison clinched the ASA Hoosier Tire West Modified Series Championship at
the Havasu 95 Speedway on November 27, 2006. The points leader was sitting on
top of the standings as he entered the last race of the year. Patison had a 10
point lead and needed to finish 5th or better to wrap up the championship.

After winning the trophy dash at Havasu, Patison raced against 23 other
cars for the 50-lap main event. The first 5 laps of the low-banked 3/8 mile oval
track were a side-by-side run for the lead between Patison and Dean Kuhn.
Patison eventually completed a pass around the outside and never let go of the
lead.

“I’ve been using K&N Oil Filters for about 4 years,” said Patison. “K&N works
great and helped us bring home the points this season.”
Patison drives a modified open wheel which is 2500 lbs and 550 hp. “The
horsepower to weight ratio is powerful,” he said. “It was really great to win
this championship.”
This special modified racing series is comprised of six events hosted by the
Lucas Oil I 10 Speedway in Blythe, CA, the Orange Show Speedway in San
Bernardino, CA and the Havasu 95 Speedway in Lake Havasu.

The Suzuki GSXR750 and GSXR600 are motorcycles which are true racer replicas.
Design engineers compared what they had seen at regional races, the AMA and
other Superbike Series and combined that knowledge to these middleweight
machines. As top performers the Suzuki's are on the cutting edge of technology
and made to be a direct link between the racetrack and the street.
Replacement Air Filter for Suzuki GSXR600 and GSXR750
K&N Engineering has designed a new Lifetime Replacement Air Filter,
SU-7506 for the 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Suzuki GSXR600 600 and the 2006 to 2010 Suzuki GSXR750.
The K&N Filter is custom designed to fit into your existing factory air box. The
drop in design means adding performance is simple. Remove the disposable air
filter and replace it with
SU-7506, there is never any cutting or fitting
required.
"SU-7506 has four arched shaped grooves at the bottom and a hole at the top,"
said K&N Application Coordinator Lisa Watson. "The arched grooves are designed
to fit the contours of the air box for an optimum seal. The fingers on the air
box lid hold the filter down to also provide an optimum seal. The hole at the
top of the filter is screwed in easily with the existing hardware."
K&N uses a unique pleated design that allows a high volume of air flow. "With
SU-7506 the air flow comes in through the intake and as it passes through the
filter the force feeds into the fuel injection system," said Watson. "This is
for increased air flow and more power."
K&N Filters, unlike disposable filters, are washable and reusable. Covered by
our famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty, it will be the last air filter
your vehicle will ever need.
The Chrysler PT Cruiser was updated in 2006 with a turbocharged engine that is
performance based and tuned to deliver 230 horsepower. The exterior has a new
wheel design and a new front grille. Sound insulation and new door panels are
also part of the 2006 upgrades.
AirCharger Air Intake for 2006, 2007 and 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser
K&N designed an air intake system, 63-1551, for 2006, 2007 and 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser models with 2.4L Turbo engines. "The electronic components under
the hood were repositioned with the new design of the PT Cruiser,"
said K&N Performance Kit Manager Bert Heck. "K&N developed a new heat shield for
this particular engine and designed the tube for these intakes to accommodate front wheel drive and the transmission."

K&N tests have shown an estimated horsepower gain of 12 @ 5086 RPM with K&N's
63-1551 and 57-1551 air intake systems. K&N Engineers were able to get such good horsepower because the
original factory airbox and original filter were restrictive, said Heck.
These cold air intakes are rotationally molded polyethylene Intake System uses a conical shaped
High-Flow Carbon Top Air Filter RP-4660
that fits into the stock location. The heat shield isolates the filter element
from the engine heat. This in turn keeps a cooler air charge going into the
engine. A carbon top is used to add to the visual appeal of the PT Cruiser.
It takes less than an hour to
install this kit and
the lifetime K&N Air Filter performs for up to 100,000 miles before service is
required depending on driving conditions.
For 2007 the Yukon, Denali, Tahoe, Suburban, Avalanche and Escalade are all
related powerhouses in the SUV family. These vehicles are available in a variety
of comfortable packages which range from upscale to luxury.

K&N Engineering, Inc. takes these powerful V8s to the next level with our
63 Series AirCharger Intake,
57-3058.
K&N tests have shown a horsepower gain of 17.54 @ 4917 RPM with this K&N Intake Kit.
K&N Engineers were able to get such good horsepower because the original factory
airbox and original filter were restrictive. The K&N Intake Tube design along
with our K&N Filter with radius adaptor are big reasons why K&N was able to get
so much power.

"We repositioned the stock mass air sensor to help with the horsepower
gains," said K&N Performance Kit Manager Bert Heck. "57-3058
also comes with a removable lid that goes over the top of the heat shield. We
designed it with the lid to keep out heavy debris. We want customers to know
that with or without the lid the huge horsepower gain stays the same."
K&N's 63 Series Kit,
57-3058
uses a round tapered chrome top K&N Air Filter (RF-1042)
that can fit into the engine compartment using factory holes and mounting
points. It takes less than an hour to
install this kit and
the lifetime K&N Air Filter performs for up to 100,000 miles before service is
required depending on driving conditions.
