The 2005 Dodge Durango is very different from the first-generation models. It's
4.7 liter V8 engine is powerful and sits farther back in the chassis resulting in
better balance.
Intake Kit for 2004 to 2009 Dodge Dorango
K&N Engineering helps the 2004 to 2009 Dodge Durango 4.7L V8
release extra power. On K&N's dynamometer the 57-Series Generation II Fuel
Injection Performance Kit (57-1538)
upped the horsepower by 16.75 at 4588 RPM.
The K&N 57-Series FIPK systems add power by eliminating the restrictive OE
airbox and intake tract. In place, K&N substitutes an aerodynamically designed
intake tube that maximizes airflow with a smooth rotationally molded polyethylene internal surface.
"Every heat shield we make is custom designed for every vehicle," said K&N
Performance Kit Manager Bert Heck. "This is easy to install."
K&N's 57-Series FIPK's are engineered for bolt-on do-it-yourself installation.
In 90 minutes or less, the average enthusiast can remove the stock intake track
and add the 57-Series components. Kits include all brackets and mounting
hardware, stainless steel clamps and silicone hose adaptors.
K&N's FIPK (57-1538)
also comes with a K&N Lifetime Air Filter (RF-1041)
which lasts up to 100,000 miles before service is required (depending on driving
conditions). It also comes with the famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty.
The GMC Canyon, Hummer H3 and Chevrolet Colorado have several things and common.
The mid-size 2006 Hummer H3 was derived from the Canyon and Colorado pickups and
shares the truck body on frame construction and 3.5 liter DOHC 20 valve all
aluminum inline five-cylinder Vortec engine.
Air Intake for Hummer, GMC Canyon and Chevy Colorado
K&N Engineering has developed a new 57-series Fuel Injection Performance Kit (57-3043) that will add a bigger punch to the
vehicles. K&N tests have shown an 18.57 horsepower gain at 6001 RPM with this
rotationally molded polyethylene intake.
By replacing the Canyon, Hummer and Colorado's factory air intake assembly with
K&N's 57-Series Fuel Injection Performance Kit (57-3043) the engine gets cool,
dense air with less restriction. The FIPK uses K&N's high-flow, washable and
reusable air filter (RF-1048) which performs up to 100,000 miles before service
is required (depending on driving conditions).
"This Air Intake provides a lot more power," said K&N Performance Kit Manager
Bert Heck. "18 + is an excellent gain, and will make a difference in performance
whether you 4X4 or city drive."
K&N's FIPK (57-3043) can be installed in 90 minutes or less with simple hand
tolls and lasts up to 100,000 miles before service is required (depending on
driving conditions). It also comes with the famous K&N Million Mile Limited
Warranty.
K&N Applications for
57-3043 are:
2006 Hummer H3 3.5L L52005, GMC Canyon 3.5L L52005, Chevrolet Colorado 3.5L L5,
2004 GMC Canyon 3.5L L5 and the 2004 Chevrolet Colorado 3.5L L5.
The 2006 to 2011 Mercury Mariner Hybrid 2.3L L4 shares the same advanced technology of
the 2005 to 2012 Ford Escape Hybrid 2.3L L4. There are four basic stages to the
operation cycle, stop/start, electric drive, regenerative braking and cruising
with electric power assist. The Mariner and Escape combine full hybrid
technology with the features of an SUV. Its powertrain blends a gasoline engine
with an electric motor to achieve higher driving efficiency and lower emissions.
Air Filter for Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner Hybrid
Lift the hood of the Mercury Mariner Hybrid or the Ford Escape Hybrid and K&N's
Lifetime Replacement Air Filter (33-2347)
is custom designed to fit in the factory air box. The drop-in design means
adding performance is simple, just remove the disposable air filter in the
Mariner or Escape and replace it with K&N's Air Filter (33-2347).
The washable, reusable, high flow flat panel filter is designed to increase
horsepower and acceleration while providing excellent filtration. The (33-2347)
is 1 inch in height (25mm) with an outside length of 13.063 inches (332 mm) and
an outside width of 5.625 inches (143mm).
Unlike disposable filters, K&N Air Filters use a unique pleated design comprised
of an oiled cotton fabric sandwiched between two layers of epoxy-coated aluminum
screen. The filters capture airborne dirt particles while allowing high volume
air flow. These particles then cling to the outside of the filter and become
part of the filtering media.
The 2006 Mercury Mariner Hybrid received the "2006 Green Car of the Year" award
at the Los Angeles Auto Show and the 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid meets Advanced
Technology Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle requirements.
The K&N Filters for street vehicles are covered by our famous K&N
Million Mile Limited Warranty and will be the last air filter your vehicle will
ever need.
The 2004 Pontiac GTO is a coupe that can be compared to the late Firebird, with
the exception of a large spoiler on the trunk. On the inside the 5.7 liter V8
is shared with the Corvette.
Air Intake System for 2004 PONTIAC GTO
K&N Engineering has released a new 69-Series Typhoon Air
Intake (69-7200TP)
for the 2004 Pontiac GTO 5.7L V8. K&N dynamometer tests show a 15.25 horsepower
gain @ 5050 RPM for this intake. "This air intake (69-7200TP)
is designed to use the factory Mass Air Flow Sensor," said K&N Project
Technician Nestor Cabrera. "It uses a special radius filter adapter with a large
volume high flow K&N Air Filter (RC-5138)
to minimize flow restriction and increase horsepower. It also incorporates a
heat shield to keep the filter protected from the rest of the engine room and
ensure that it gets cool fresh air."
The K&N Filter in this kit (69-7200TP)
is specially designed for the Pontiac GTO engine. "Engineers took into account
the air flow requirements, location and space," said Cabrera. "We also used a
chrome top for added looks."
With all K&N 69-Series Typhoon Air Intakes there is a thorough development
procedure which requires the use of multiple vehicles to ensure that the horsepower gain we show is typical, said Cabrera. "There is a lot of
testing that the K&N intake goes through before it if finalized for production," he
said. "We were able to locate the cars we needed for testing through our car
database on our website."
The vehicle design played a major role in the development and design of this
69-Series Kit (69-7200TP).
"Special care was taken to ensure that the intake system followed the lines on
the vehicle and that it did not obstruct or rub against other parts in the
engine compartment," said Cabrera. "We took the design of the vehicle into
account so that there was symmetry between the intake kit and the engine
compartment ensuring that all stock covers could be re-used."
